NBC5 Sunrise Anchor Austin Reed comes to us from KOB-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he was a news reporter.

Austin has close ties to the Northwest. He was raised in Portland and was a special features reporter for KPTV Fox 12.  He also worked at Comcast Cable in Portland, KWVT-TV 17 in Salem, and KEZI-TV ABC9 in Eugene.  Austin has also been a radio announcer and an actor. You can catch a quick glimpse of him in "Untraceable" starring Diane Lane. He played a news reporter (what a surprise).

Austin loves music, basketball and the Portland Trail Blazers. He likes to travel and eat great food.  He also volunteers with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It's a cause close to his heart. Austin was diagnosed with "CF" when he was 3 years old.
