Two years after being shot outside a shopping center in Tucson, Arizona former congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly headline the news with their announcement of targeting massive gun lobbyists to curb violent shootings.
Giffords was shot in the head and six were killed when a gunman opened fire during a meeting with the former congresswoman. The recent mass killing of 20 young children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Giffords says, "Enough"
Giffords is launching a national campaign called Americans for Responsible Solutions which will fund a lobby countering the National Rifle Association.
She's not the only one pushing Congress. Calif. Senator Dianne Feinstein hopes to pass a 'perfected' Assault Weapons Ban which expired in 2004. In the bill, 900 firearms would be exempt and the ban would target high capacity clips and military style assault weapons like the AR-15.
