Seldom has the question been asked within the means of the gun talks. That is until recent mass shootings across the United States revamped the gun debate. Does Having a gun make a person more safe? There's no one answer, but according to medical research from Harvard, the answer suggests a person may be less safe.

Great story, really well done. Thanks for doing this--it's rare to get such a perspective around here.
Travis,
I saw you story last night on whether having a gun makes you safer, great job and solid reporting.
Hope to see more on the subject and in the same vein, facts.
Thanks,

Missing a lot of perspective. You didn't bother to research shootings like the clackamas town center shooting that is believed to have been stopped by a CC permit holder. Need to look harder at both sides not just one you think is popular. See my facebook post for more information.
Randy, it isn't what they think is popular, it's what research is showing. Sorry it's not backing up what you believe. Apparently you feel safer being armed. I don't feel safer, nor do I feel safer knowing those around me might be armed. No, that scared me.
The shooter at the Clackamas Mall stopped shooting when the weapon jammed.
If the gun jammed how did he shoot and kill himself? It was a one sided story that's why my comments centered around perspective. @lisa most people that are responsible enough to go and take the class and actually understand guns aren't the ones walking around and shooting people.
