Erickson Air-Crane To Buy Evergreen Helicopters in $250 Million Deal

In a move to boost business, including here locally, Erickson Air-Crane is buying McMinnville-based Evergreen Helicopters.

Executives with Erickson made the announcement on Wednesday.

The deal, valued at $250 million  will allow Evergreen to pay off nearly $300 million in debt.

All 400 employees with the company will keep their jobs in the transition, and Erickson plans on adding jobs in it's Portland headquarters down the line.

Officials with the company also say they expect a boost at the Central Point repair and maintenance facility.

No word just yet on what that local growth will look like.
