Oregon's U.S. senators and the governor met with members of the public and fire officials to discuss the Douglas Complex Fire.
NBC 5's Roma Villavicencio was there filed this report.
My view is...these fires have been burning unchecked for well over a week. And containment on the main fire is still under 20%. That means they're not getting enough on it. They've got a number of choppers, but where are the big tankers that hammer the "head" of the flames - to stop the rapid spread? These heavy tankers haven't been seen anywhere. Just bucket choppers. Those are usually for smaller fires and for mopping up. Are they trying to save money? They're losing a lot of timber income and tax base. Where do the lines cross?
