New figures released by the Oregon Department of Education this week show that Jackson County continues to have one of the highest rates for homeless students in the state.
The report shows that Medford has the third highest population of homeless students following Portland and Beaverton.
Nearly 1 in ten students in Medford accounts for the homeless students population in the district.
However, the number of homeless students in Medford has gone down 8 percent since the 2010-2011 school year.
