Logging Trucks To Move For Wildfire Precautions

To help reduce the risk of wildfires, logging trucks will be thinning out forest lands in Ashland during the month of June.

Starting in mid-June, logging trucks will begin transporting timber from the Ashland Watershed's Horn Gap area.

It's all an effort to reduce the risk of severe wildfires by cutting down trees, primarily douglas firs.

Residents can expect four to five logging trucks per day driving through downtown Ashland.

The project is estimated to cost $1.3 million if funded primarily by federal stimulus dollars.
