A shelter on its last leg after more than 84 years of being a lifeline to tens of thousands of homeless animals in Jackson County has a new lease on life.  With the new year comes a new outlook for the Southern Oregon Humane Society -- on the brink of  closing their doors 16 months ago, now not only surviving, but thriving thanks to the generosity of this community.  NBC5's Laura Cavanaugh reports.

****UPDATE****

SOHS is the only no-kill shelter in Jackson County.  The other no-kill shelter is the Rogue Valley Humane Society in Josephine County.  If you would like to help either organization, you can visit them online at southernoregonnumane.org or roguevalleyhumanesociety.org
