You may have noticed that a Southern Oregon icon is missing. One of the lumberjack twins that used to tower over the Expo Center in Central Point was taken down after falling into disrepair.
The 37- foot, two-dimensional Bunyan Brothers statue, sitting off Interstate five, has been a longtime roadside attraction.
"He's been down for a few weeks and some people think he's gone away and thrown away. That's not the case," said Expo Manager Dave Koellemeier, "He's resting, and as luck would have it, a number of scout troops have stepped forward the last few months looking for a heritage and restoration project."
