Tonight a Trail man faces animal abuse charges after allegedly shooting a neighbor's dog last weekend.
The Sheriff's office says according to witnesses, Danny Lee Tryon was tired of dogs defecating in his yard and alluded to shooting the dog in retaliation.
Tryon was booked on charges of first-degree animal abuse at the Jackson County Jail Thursday, but has since been released due to overcrowding at the jail.
The dog was taken to All Creatures Animal Hospital in Eagle Point to undergo surgery and is still recovering.
