Josephine County Commissioners voted unanimously to form a permanent law-enforcement tax district. The tax district would come with a maximum rate of 1.85 per $1000 dollars of assessed property value.
Oregon law requires that commissioners set a tax rate and hold two public hearings before taking a proposed tax district to voters.
Commissioner Simon Hare says a serial tax deal would be more agreeable to county voters.

So it doesn't matter what the voters decide, the county commissioners will do whatever they want to? 390.00 on a 200,000 dollar home isn't acceptable, especially when the " transparency" as to what the money is actually spent on doesn't exist. The county commissioners vote can be overturned by the public too through referendum. I suggest that process be started immediately.
