A bill designed to keep the daily recital of the pledge of allegiance in classrooms is moving through the house. The House Committee has approved bill 3014, which would require the American flag to be displayed in every classroom, and for students to recite the pledge of allegiance daily.
Under the proposed legislations, students may remain silent, which is currently law. Some officials say it would be important to teach students what "pledge" means if it makes it through the Senate.
The bill now goes to the house floor for a vote.
