Medford, Ore. – An Ashland man who was arrested in January on multiple charges including encouraging child sexual abuse, rape, delivery of a controlled substance to a minor, and stalking, will now spend almost 6 years behind bars.
Police said the charges against 32-year-old Matthew Hokulii Aranda stem from a relationship Aranda had with a 16-year-old girl.
According the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, the charges of rape and child sexual abuse were dropped as part of a plea deal.
Aranda pleaded guilty to charges of delivery of a controlled substance to a minor, stalking, and using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct. He will spend 5 years and 10 months in prison.
