Bernie bows out

NC_dncam0726_1500x845Philadelphia, Penn. (NBC News) — After a rough start, Democrats will choose their Presidential nominee Tuesday.

Party leaders are expecting a fight from defiant Bernie Sanders supporters, even after Sanders threw his full support behind Hillary Clinton last night.

With wild applause, Bernie Sanders took one last victory lap, and then said what his supporters did not want to hear: “Hillary Clinton must become the next President of the United States!” he said.

He ended a tense day after dozens of Sanders supporters were detained outside and defiant inside.

Tuesday’s roll call vote for the nomination could bring more drama from Sanders delegates as Democrats try to figure out if the anti-Clinton delegates are a real threat or just a very loud minority.
