Crime investigation puts Montague school on lock down

Siskiyou County, Cal.- Siskiyou County Sheriff’s investigators and the area’s major crimes team is investigating a possible crime in the Shasta Vista area near Montague.

According to Siskiyou County Sheriff John Lopey, the office received a report of a crime in Montague. They received the report from a man walking down the road. He was not able to elaborate, however he did confirm several investigative units were called out.

Big Springs Elementary School in Montague was placed on lock down for about 45 minutes Monday morning as a result of the investigation. The lock down was lifted once it was determined there was no threat to students.
