Bend, Ore. – The man accused of killing a Bend woman then going on a violent crime spree in northern California is back in Oregon.
NBC affiliate KTVZ reports Edwin Lara was booked into a Bend jail early Wednesday morning. He is expected to be arraigned in court on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.’
Police in Bend said the 31-year old Redmond resident killed 23-year old Kaylee Sawyer and then kidnapped a young woman in Salem.
Lara’s also accused of shooting an elderly man in Yreka and kidnapping a family there. He’ll remain behind bars with no bail.
