House targeted in Talent

Talent, Ore., — “Around 3 oclock in the morning I actually heard a noise, a really heavy sound, a boom boom boom.”

This woman shares a fence with the house that was shot at in Talent.

She wouldn’t share her name.

One of the reasons – she’s scared.

“It does make me very very nervous, I do have a young child and so I’m worried. When heard the noise initially I thought, is this gun fire? Do I need to go and get somewhere in my house that’s safe?”

Talent Police say the house on South Pacific Highway was specifically targeted around 3 am.

A family of six was inside sleeping at the time.

“The individual drove up to the residence and fired at least three rounds through the residence, through the window there.” said Talent Police Chief, Curtis Whipple.

No one inside was shot, but the mother was cut by flying wood splinters.

While police say there is no threat to the public, the neighbor says that doesn’t make her feel much better.

“I’m not the only one with a young child. There are several kids in this park, and you know, you worry now whether or not someone is gonna come and shoot at you just randomly.”

She hopes police find the shooters soon and bring peace back to the neighborhood.

“I’m gonna be on edge until we know what happened. And hopefully something gets done about the situation, and this becomes a safe environment again.”

Talent Police don’t know much about the shooter.

They only know a SUV was seen leaving the area after the shots were fired.

They are asking for the public’s help in getting more information,  if you know anything about the incident you are asked to call them.
