Jackson County parties watch final presidential debate

Jackson County, Ore. — While Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton faced off at their third and final debate tonight, both Jackson County parties were watching.

Jackson County Republican Chairman Ken Fawcett says he doesn’t think Donald Trump did very well in the first debate, but he believes Trump was the winner of the second in terms of making his point and asking the right questions.

Democratic Chairman David Roadman also thinks Hillary Clinton has done increasingly well and that she did better in the second debate too with her knowledge for the topics discussed.

As for the debate tonight…

“I’m hoping from the debate tonight that we can further separate the two and that she will be seen as the more experienced person with the policy and ideas that will help to lead this country forward,” Democratic Chairman David Roadman said.

“There’s a lot to be said and hopefully it comes out and I would say you’d hope that Donald Trump would focus more on the issues and less on being defensive,” Republican Chairman Ken Fawcett said.

There’s one thing that the chairs agree on: that the past two debates have focused more on personal attacks rather than important issues.

There are 20 days until the election.
