Career Fair introduces students to unique local jobs

Medford, Ore. — Nearly 900 high school students from across the region are learning about unique jobs right here in the Rogue Valley, thanks to a career fair. Over 50 regional businesses, colleges, and military branches set up at Central Medford High School on Thursday.

Students from all over Southern Oregon and Northern California came to learn more about local job opportunities. Organizers say they try to find jobs that kids have never heard of.
“We came up with this idea, how about if we brought all the businesses, and all the students together in one place, and, with the goal of inspiring kids about careers they’ve never heard of,” Stacie Grier said, an event coordinator.

This is the sixth year of the annual event. Organizers say it grows every year. The Rogue Valley Manor provided over 1,000 lunches for students and those working the fair. Other sponsors include Providence, AllCare, and Quantum.
