Head-on vehicle crash in White City

White City, Ore. – Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies say weather and road condition were a factor in a head-on collision on Corey and Kershaw roads Wednesday morning. Law enforcement and medical units were called to the scene of the crash around 8:30 AM.

Deputy Ian Lance said the driver of a Jeep Wrangler crossed the center line, and collided head-on with a Nissan Cube. Deputy Lance said driver negligence was a factor, however the road conditions played a significant role.

“Today was a great example that even someone that’s very familiar with the roadway and drives it everyday can still be caught unawares by the conditions that happen to be there at that time, you just don’t know,” Deputy Lance said. “The best advice is just to slow down.”

The driver of the Jeep was cited for failing to maintain a lane. Both drivers had minor injuries, and were treated on scene.

Deputies are warning drivers to slow down, and drive according to the conditions as Winter approaches, when more drivers will be on the roadway for the holiday season.
