Killer sought in Klamath Falls murder

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Police are asking for your help in finding out who shot and killed a man early Friday morning at a Klamath Falls park. Detectives were busy combing Veterans Memorial Park for clues Friday morning.

Klamath County District Attorney Rob Patridge says the shooting happened shortly after midnight, “Units responded, a citizen had responded, had heard a gunshot – responded to help an individual who had been shot.”

The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Arnulfo Panuco-Anzaldo of Klamath Falls. Panuco-Anzaldo was taken to Sky Lakes Medical Center, where he died late Friday morning.

“We currently have not named a suspect in this investigation,” said D.A. Patridge. “The Klamath County Major Crime Team has been initiated, we’re asking for citizen help.”

Veterans Memorial Park was closed through most of the morning, as detectives processed the crime scene. It’s believed Panuco-Anzaldo was shot near the park boathouse, and then made his way to Main Street for help.

Patridge says it’s unclear what may have sparked the shooting, “We have nothing related to motive.”

The D.A. noted that it’s been a busy time for the Klamath County Major Crime Team, “We had 11 homicides last year in Klamath County.”
