A Grants Pass man is behind bars on felony child abuse-related charges, accused of putting a two-year-old in the hospital.
Police say 32-year-old Damien Rafael Gulick was arrested on Friday.
He allegedly abused a two-year-old, who had to undergo surgery because of injuries and is tonight in critical condition at a Portland hospital.
Gulick, who police say is the child’s stepfather, is charged with first degree assault and criminal mistreatment.
His arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
