Modoc Fire was human caused

Central Point, Ore. — The Oregon Department of Forestry confirmsthe Modoc Road Fire on Upper Table Rock was human caused.

The fire sparked just before noon Thursday and burned a total of35 acres.

Crews with the Oregon Department of Forestry say they’ll likely stay there until early next week,monitoring hot spots and securing the containment line.

The fire started on private farm land that appeared to be partially mowed.

Greg Alexander from ODF said, “Everyone really needs to pay attention in those conditions. If you’re working out there, following the regulations, it’s possible the fire could start from any cause. Make sure you have fireextinguisheror water available.”

The trail to Upper Table Rock Mountain was closed after the fire but has since reopened.
