Police gearing up for Ashland Halloween festivities

Ashland, Ore. – Local law enforcement are preparing for a busy weekend in Ashland this Halloween. The Ashland Police Department will have extra patrols out beginning on Friday night.

On Saturday, Ashland police will be getting a little extra help from other local agencies, such as Medford Police, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Parole and Probation, and the OLCC.

“All of our partner agencies will come down tomorrow night and we’ll have a larger group of police officers present, and we have a lot to offer tomorrow on halloween,” Ashland Deputy Chief Warren Hensman, said. “We want you to come down here, we want you to have fun, and we want you to be safe.”

This year also allows for an extra hour of partying for adults, as day light saving time changes early Sunday morning. That means an added hour out at the bars, when we turn the clocks at 2 A.M., back to 1 A.M.

Police would like to remind you to be safe this year as you enjoy Halloween. If you plan on drinking, plan on getting a ride home, and of course, watch out for the trick-or-treaters this Saturday night.
