Washington One Step Closer to Legalizing Same Sex Marriage

A bill legalizing gay marriage in Washington state passed its biggest legislative hurdle Wednesday night– moving closer to becoming law.

The state Senate — where the legislation faced its toughest test — approved the measure on a twenty-eight to twenty-one mostly party-line vote.

Now the bill heads to the full House next week where it is expected to pass, which will make Washington the seventh state to legalize same sex marriage.
