Medford citizens to vote on marijuana restrictions

0805 City of Medford logoMedford, Ore. — Medford is joining the growing list of Southern Oregon communities considering restrictions on marijuana following the 2014 legalization of the drug.

On Thursday, the Medford City Council voted 6 to 1 in favor of putting a  measure on the November ballot to ban outdoor marijuana grows in residential areas.

Councilor Kevin Stine was the lone vote against the resolution, while Councilor Clay Bearnson, who co-owns a medical marijuana dispensary, abstained.
