Eugene, Ore. – An Oregon gun dealer has been indicted for allegedly selling guns to someone he knew was a felon.
The Department of Justice said on Wednesday, a federal grand jury in Eugene indicted 67-year-old Nicholas Earle Russel of Albany, Oregon. Russell is the owner and operator of Albany Guns, Coins and Jewelry.
The indictment alleges Russel sold multiple firearms, including a .50 caliber handgun, to an individual Russel knew was a convicted felon.
Each of the four charges carries a maximum sentence of ten years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
The DOJ added the indictment “is only an accusation of a crime, and a defendant should be presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”
