Police search for Jackson Co. hit and run suspect

0720 Jackson County crashJackson County, Ore. – Deputies are searching for a suspect who allegedly caused a two-vehicle crash on a rural Jackson County road and fled the scene.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the 1800 block of Pleasant Creek road on Wednesday morning sometime before 10:30.

Deputies said witnesses reported the driver of a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria caused a crash then fled the scene.

Police said the suspect’s vehicle caught fire and began to burn nearby trees. Neighbors worked to fight the fire until Evans Valley Fire District firefighters arrived.

Deputies describe the suspect as a white man in his mid-20s with dark shaved hair, wearing a plaid long-sleeved shirt and jeans.
