Sex offender sweep nets 34 arrests in Josephine County

0617 crime gavelJosephine County, Ore. – A three-day sex offender sweep coordinated by the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of 34 suspects.

Deputies said “Operation Sex Offender Sweep” took place between Tuesday, September 13th and Thursday, September 15th.

JCSO said a task force consisting of multiple law enforcement agencies collaborated with the goal of locating convicted sex offenders who were not in compliance with the law. Additionally, people with outstanding warrants relating to firearms possession in conjunction with drug offenses were also sought.

JSCO worked with the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, Oregon State police, Josephine County Parole and Probation, and the U.S. Marshal’s Service during the sweep.
