Theater Corridor artist meets with public

Ashland, Ore. — Residents in Ashland got the opportunity to meet and share their ideas with the artist hired for the Theater Corridor Art Project.

Napa artist Gordon Heuther has built art installations around the United States. He was in Ashland tonight to take a look at Theater Corridor and to meet and share his work with the public.

He doesn’t yet have a design for the walkway, but he says it’s better that way.

“A lot of times communities hire an artist based on their concept or proposal but then you’ve lost the opportunity to collaborate. So this is going to be a very collaborative effort,” explained Heuther.

His concept will be presented in September, the installation is planned for 2018.

Theater Corridor runs between Main Street and the Thomas Theater in Ashland.
