Ashland, Ore. — A commercial semi-truck transporting a load of bananas on I-5 caught fire on Thursday. This comes less than a month after another banana truck caught fire just a few miles south on I-5.
The Oregon Department of Transportation said the truck was able to pull off the interstate and park at the Exit 11 northbound off-ramp around 6:00 p.m., just south of Ashland.
Nobody was injured in the smoldering fire. The off-ramp was reopened a short time later.
