Medford, Ore. — A 17-year-old charged with attempted murder is going to prison for more than 7 years.
The trial for Tyler Sandoval was set to begin Tuesday morning, but the teen reached a plea deal with the District Attorney’s office.
Sandoval is accused of firing shots at two people in a Medford apartment complex on Narregan Street last September. He and 3 others were charged in the incident.
This morning, Sandoval pleaded guilty to 2 counts of attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon and riot charges. In exchange for his guilty plea, attempted assault and criminal conspiracy charges were dismissed.
Sandoval will serve 90 months in prison, with 3 years of post prison supervision.
