Calif. — (KCRA) A high-risk, high-reward decision is being credited with helping save homes in the wake of the deadly and destructive Butte fire.
While others were packing up and preparing to leave, 73-year-old Doug Joses started digging in. He’s lived in the same Mountain Ranch home his entire life, and wasn’t going to chance losing it.
“Five generations that’s been on this particular ranch, and you think somebody’s going to run out of here with a little fire?” Joses said. “I don’t think so.”
